Site last revised: 11/19/08 Welcome to ICE-CAP ICE is the Illinois affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), an organization responsible for setting technology standards for educators and students. The ICE-CAP Board is excited to plan our bi-monthly meetings-- your topic and location suggestions are most welcome! Our dates for meetings and workshops for the 2008-09 school year have been established. Our next meeting will be Thursday, January 22 at Medill P.T.C. featuring Google Apps and Tools overview and demo. Please see our "Calendar" page for full details. As of September 2, 2008 and featured on our updated Resources Page, ICE-CAP has a blog as part of the ICE blog network. Our blog is hosted by board member Shaz Rasul: Again this year, we plan to offer a Saturday workshop or two. In addition, ICE offers many opportunities for professional development presentations, workshop series (including summer), and conferences. These trainings complement our meetings, which are intended as forums for topical services, support, and discussions. Please see our "Calendar" page for full details. Below, CPS CIO (Chief Information Officer) Mr. Robert Runcie addresses ICE-CAP at our September 30, 2008 meeting at CPS' Elizabeth Training Facility. Mr. Runcie has presented at our opening September meeting six years in a row as CIO, starting in 2003. |
